I am a passionate mountaineer preferring trackless alpine hiking to unknown peaks, moderate glacier tours and lonely landscapes (S/W Alps and Pyrenees). When I changed from analog to digital SLR in 2004 I was immediately infected by panoramic photography which I always perform freehand. When I am not in the mountains or behind the monitor, I am addicted to triathlon, listen to classic music, love cooking, collect spanish red wine and indulge in gardeneering.

I'm wandering around for mountains since I was young. A few years ago I started with photography because of both, the photography itself, and my interest in the Alps' morphology and topology. My favorites are the unfrequented panoramic spots. Even if I like the prominence of the big peaks, the study of particular details around the horizon is fascinating me. So I always carry a heavy telelens with me, always ready to capture images of nature in all its forms.

Since 2004 the nearby Allgäu Mountains captivate myself. I like to climb them the lonely way without hustle and bustle in order to enjoy the nature & the silence.
In 2002 I started digital photography, since 2007 I'm using a DSLR. My 1st Digicam, an Olympus, had a built-in panorama function, but the packaged software didn't satisfy me. After a long phase of try I decided for Hugin, the software I still like most for my stitchs.

I like being outdoors and my great passion is Mountaineering. Altough I have already climbed more than half of the Alps 4000s smaller mountains enchant me too. I have been a photographer for more than half of my life and it was a wonderful stroke of fate when I caught sight of the first alpine panoramic. I thougt it a wonderful way of sharing what normally would only be in my memory. In the Alpes I prefer out-of-the-way mountains or unfrequented climbs.

As I grew a up in a mountain lodge my grandpa built up in the Allgäu, mountain landscapes have always been part of my life. Interactive panoramics fascinated me since I saw the first one on my PC.
When panoramics developed from small boxes to full screen presentations I decided to realize the project I had in mind for years: Mountainpanoramas. This is my contribution to the alpine web.
